GLIMPSES FROM THE VISITORS BOOK

1. In Nov,1960 Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru came for the opening ceremony of Kota Barrage .The Mobile Surgical Unit, which was then in action at Kaithoon was visited by the Prime Minister. His impression in the Visitors Book on 21st Nov 1960 is as follows: -

"I have been much impressed by this Mobile Hospital.
I think this system might well be adopted elsewhere".

2. I was very pleased to inaugurate the camp of the Mobile Surgical Unit at Jhalarapatan city .The scheme has undoubtedly impressed me very much. It is highly useful too. The weakest in the society gets the full benefit. The enthusiasm of the team of Doctors along with a band of assistants and nurses as well of the citizens is praiseworthy.

3. This day I had the opportunity of seeing the Mobile Hospital of Rajasthan at Mount Abu. My experience was thrilling as I found this project unique in many respects.
Many a time criticism has been made in the two houses of parliament that qualified doctors feel disinclined to serve in the villages. Then it is too costly for a villager to go to the city and avail himself of the medical aid. Most of the hospital in the cities cannot provide as many beds are needed and the doctors cannot give the required attention to the poor. This results in the loss of many valuable lives and causes immeasurable suffering.
This Mobile Hospital provides solution to all these problems. It is indeed inspiring to see how the latest equipment in surgery and for eye operations is tackled on wheels and a full-fledged hospital is improvised for the welfare of the people. I found the doctors, and their assistants, nurses, compounders and lower servants are well devoted to their work.
I have my blessings and good wishes to this welfare institution. I wish this example could be publicized in some suitable form so that it could be emulated and followed elsewhere.

5. I am immensely impressed to see for myself the work and the manner in which the work is being done. The place not only spells efficiency but also is an example of dedication, devotion sacrifice, service and loves.
I wish the state could run at least another two mobile surgical and preventive medical units. The latter is to save them through education and other timely preventive actions to avoid most of the ailments which if neglected, cause suffering and expenditure of a high order.
I wish the mobile Surgical Unit unqualified success in whatever works it undertakes.

The birth and growth of the Mobile Surgical Unit, during the last 45 years of its existence goes to prove that the real secret of success is enthusiasm and devotion to one's work especially an enthusiasm with purpose and a devotion with service in mind.

THE MOBILE SURGICAL UNIT WHICH IS FULLY DEVELOPED IS MATCHLESS SO FAR.

One has to see for himself a camp in action, believe and appreciate the noble work being done by the medical personnel at the door step of the poor.
